The upcoming APPLE AirPods 4 headphones won’t be available for a while. However, indications are beginning to emerge as to the features and improvements expected for APPLE’s future wireless headphones.
The release of APPLE AirPods 4 is highly anticipated. Many users still prefer the classic AirPods 2 due to the high price of the latest model AirPods 3.
APPLE AirPods are Bluetooth headphones that were first released in 2016. They revolutionized the world of portable audio by featuring true wireless technology. This was then little used, except in the field of audio headphones.
These headphones have been designed to deliver excellent sound quality despite the lack of in-ear tips. They have touch controls for interacting with Siri and answering calls. Thanks to the APPLE ecosystem, they make it easy to transition from one device to another, like your iPhone and iPad. The first AirPods also popularized the protective case that doubles as a battery thanks to a built-in Lightning port.
AirPods 4 APPLE
APPLE therefore intends to explore the health field with its new AirPods 4 in the near future. Aware of the potential of its wireless headphones, the company is therefore working on surprising new features.
APPLE also plans to upgrade AirPods 4 to make it a real information collection tool. In particular, the company wants to collect hearing data in order to transform AirPods 4 into hearing aids. So it’s worth noting that the accessories already have features like real-time listening. This also amplifies the sound and allows better listening during a conversation, even in a noisy environment.
However, hearing-related features are not currently approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The US health authority does not officially recognize AirPods as hearing aids. Given APPLE’s commitment to making health one of its core initiatives, it should come as no surprise that AirPods would one day end up taking on these duties in a more official way.
Rumors have also circulated about the possibility of seeing APPLE AirPods headphones equipped with biometric sensors. In the future, it is therefore possible that AirPods will offer a range of features such as tracking heart rate, sweating, movement and even body temperature.
New APPLE AirPods 4
Will there be a design change for APPLE AirPods 4?
So far, the iconic design of APPLE AirPods headphones has barely changed. Even the first AirPods retained the discreet white design of the wired headphones sold by APPLE.
However, with the expected arrival of the APPLE Watch Ultra and rumors surrounding the design of the iPhone 15, it seems that something new is coming. Why not expect an evolution of the design of APPLE AirPods or the introduction of new colors like black for example?
It is also possible that future AirPods 4 will benefit from new features already present on the Pro models. We imagine new controls or active noise reduction (ANC) which is not yet available on all classic AirPods.
The question of the ergonomics of the AirPods pressure sensors has long been raised. APPLE offered a slightly different touch interface. It is more intuitive on the latest AirPods Pro 2. It is therefore very likely that this development will also appear on the next generation of AirPods 4.
Active noise reduction
Active noise reduction is a feature highly anticipated by AirPods users. Although APPLE has developed high-performance active noise reduction for its headphones and AirPods Pro with silicone tips, it is not certain whether it will be available on the fourth generation of AirPods. The absence of in-ear tips limits sealing and reduces the effectiveness of active noise reduction. Additionally, the introduction of ANC on classic AirPods could overshadow the Pro range.
APPLE AirPODS 4 release
Lately, a recent beta version of iOS 16.4 would have revealed the presence of new Beats Studio Buds+ as well as new AirPods. iOS 16.4 refers to new AirPods models numbered A3048 as well as a new charging case numbered A2968.
Since the AirPods Pro 2 launched in September 2022, the AirPods 4 are unlikely to be renewed until next year. No launch is expected before 2024. AirPods 4 could feature the H2 chip for improved wireless performance. APPLE could also update the box
charging tier by integrating a USB-C port in place of the Lightning connector. In this way, APPLE would comply with European legislation.
It is likely that APPLE will also take advantage of the arrival of AirPods 4 to reorganize its entry-level offering. This would eventually reduce the price of the AirPods 3 and the AirPods 2 would likely be removed from sale.
APPLE AirPods Lite
Rumor has it that APPLE is also working on AirPods Lite in an effort to compete with other cheaper earbuds. This would therefore allow APPLE to refresh its range. However, no concrete information has yet leaked regarding the technical characteristics, design or release date of these AirPods Lite. We can therefore only assume that their price should be less than €150. The price of the second generation AirPods is also itself lower than the price of the AirPods 3.
Another possibility for APPLE would also be to reduce the price of AirPods 2. Although the statements of some analysts are credible. There are therefore no tangible rumors circulating on social networks or specialized blogs yet regarding the launch of AirPods Lite.
